گل بدبو از تیرهٔ گلشیپوریان Araceae از جنس بیریختنَراله Amorphophallus است. بلندی این گل میتواند به ۳ متر برسد. به خاطر بویش، که شبیه بوی یک حیوان در حال پوسیدن است، تیتان آروم به عنوان یک گل جسد توصیف شده و با نام گل جسد یا گیاه جسد هم شناخته شده است. به همان دلیل عنوان گل جسد به گونه رافلزیاهم که شبیه تیتان آروم است و در جنگلهای بارانی سوماترای اندونزی رشد میکند نسبت داده شده است.این گل در جنگلهای وحشی استوایی سوماترا و اندونزی میروید و اولین بار توسط گیاهشناس ایتالیایی ادواردو بکاری شناساندهشد. این گیاه تقریباً هر یک دهه یک بار میشکفد.
